campingriverpicnicfacilitiesaccessiblereservation requiredhistoryside trip

A historic developed campground at Patrick Creek and the Middle Fork Smith River along Highway 199, with 1930s stonework, interpretation, and a separate paved route to a fishing platform. It is well east of US 101.

Access details

Parking
Use the signed campground entrance on Highway 199; directions target the Forest Service's published campground coordinate rather than the river channel.
Viewpoint
Some campsites overlook the river above a steep bank; use the designated paths rather than crossing the fence.
Trail
The agency documents a paved 0.2-mile accessible route to a barrier-free fishing platform and a separate non-accessible river path.
Public water access
Short designated paths reach the river, but no trailer boat ramp or swimming-safety finding is represented here.
Water conditions
The current agency page lists the site open, restrooms, reservations, and no potable water. Check current fire, camping, and river conditions.
