Server logs
The web server records standard request information for operations and security, including time, requested URL, response status, IP address, and browser user agent. Security protections may use request characteristics to rate-limit or deny abusive traffic.
Saved places
When you select “Save this place,” a reference is stored in this browser and its written page may be cached for poor reception. It is not attached to an account. Current conditions and map tiles are not stored by this feature.
Advertising
Eligible editorial pages load Google AdSense using publisher ID ca-pub-9976661533468241. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, measure, and limit advertising, subject to Google’s policies and any consent requirements that apply to a visitor.

Affiliate links
Some trip-planning recommendations may contain clearly identified Amazon affiliate links. Following one takes your browser to Amazon, where Amazon may receive ordinary request information and apply its own privacy, cookie, account, and purchase policies. Redwood Route 101 does not receive checkout or payment details from Amazon.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Affiliate relationships do not determine route-condition, closure, weather, river, or safety information. Those sections continue to rely on the stated public and official sources.
Live data
Your browser retrieves weather and river data from this site’s local cache. Visiting the conditions page does not directly send your browser to NWS or USGS. Following an external source link is a separate visit governed by that site’s policy.
Forms and commerce
No contact form, newsletter signup, user account, or checkout is active on this site. Any purchase reached through an external affiliate link takes place with the external retailer.
Choices
Browser controls can limit cookies or clear stored site data. Blocking advertising scripts does not block the guide’s editorial content or local conditions cache.
