Arrival: Hiouchi trailhead just west of Hiouchi Bridge on US 199.
Approach: From northbound US-101 join US 199 toward Grants Pass. Follow US 199 to the marked trailhead immediately before the west end of the bridge and use designated parking.
Use the relevant visitor lot; campground fees and vehicle limits differ. Seasonal walking bridges to Stout Grove are removed and are not a vehicle shortcut.
Official directions & access ↗A two-mile trail along the Smith River and old-growth redwoods near the west end of Hiouchi Bridge. A seasonal footbridge may connect from Jedediah Smith Campground in summer.
