Arrival: BLM Samoa Dunes staging / parking area at Lincoln Road.

Approach: From US-101 in Eureka cross Samoa Bridge on SR 255, turn left onto New Navy Base Road and drive about four miles to recreation-area parking.

The jetty is not a managed recreational access route. Use the designated staging lot.

A BLM coastal recreation area with dunes, beach access, picnicking, kayaking, birdwatching, and a separate designated off-highway-vehicle zone. Visitors on foot must remain alert around riding areas.

Access details

Parking
From Eureka, BLM directs visitors across Highway 255 and about four miles south on New Navy Base Road to the recreation-area parking; use the signed area matching your activity.
Viewpoint
The site includes a scenic overlook, beach, dunes, and Humboldt Bay-side landscapes.
Trail
Hiking and beachcombing are documented, but walkers should stay clear of designated OHV traffic areas.
Public water access
BLM lists kayaking and beach access; no Eel River access or guaranteed hand-launch facility is represented.
Water conditions
Open during daylight hours. Grills do not establish that fires are currently permitted, and BLM warns that the jetty is not safe for recreation.
