Approach: From US-101 use the southern Newton B. Drury Scenic Parkway entrance. Take the campground / visitor-center side road near the south end of the parkway.
Observe posted parking and road restrictions. Current trail closures may limit the onward hike; the arrival record is not an all-clear for the entire trail.
Official directions & access ↗A developed Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park campground beside the forest and Elk Prairie, with tent and RV sites plus cabins. Wildlife may cross the area, but sightings are never guaranteed.
